Yuval Adout

Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist

After studying TCM and practicing in his private clinic in Israel, Yuval moved to the USA and is excited to use his knowledge of traditional Chinese herbology and the aid it can bring alongside acupuncture treatments here too.

Yuval specializes in complex disease and conditions, helping patients who are dealing with cancer, neurological and autoimmune disorders, but is nonetheless very passionate about helping all kinds of life’s issues.

Yuval sees human health as part of nature. He believes we all have the power to heal ourselves and find relief, but that sometimes we need a little “nudge” in the right direction with the help of classical Chinese herbology and nutrition.

Because of his experience working in the psycho-emotional field, Yuval also likes to incorporate supportive mind-body exercises into his practice, like breathing techniques, creative sensory exercises and more.

In his spare time he likes to read, run, travel/be close to nature and take care of his plants at home.

At the age of 20, I was suffering from terrible migraines on a weekly basis. I went through many doctors and specialists and finally got the medical suggestion of taking a pill a day for the rest of my life. I was told that it will “hopefully, if you’re lucky, lower the frequency of your migraines”.

Being young and stubborn, It didn’t feel right for me to commit for the rest of my life to a treatment plan that, first of all, didn’t actually treat the problem, and second, involved the words “hope” and “luck” for it to work anyway. Thinking about it now, the doctor at the time probably just chose the wrong words to describe the treatment plan… but nevertheless, it got me started on my journey to find a different approach. One that could potentially terminate my migraines completely.

After a few years of searching, I went to my first acupuncture session.

During the session I felt many new, strange sensations in my body- and after I left the session I proceeded to have the worst migraine of my life for the whole rest of the day.

However, to my surprise, the following week I had no migraines at all, and no migraines the week after that, and the week after that. In fact, I had zero migraines for the next 4 years!

Since then, every time I get a headache of any sort, the reason behind it is very clear (like I didn’t drink enough water that day, for example).

Ever since that treatment I find myself shocked by how powerful a few tiny needles can be, and I’ve invested most of my time to study this type of medicine. To this day, Chinese Medicine continues to surprise me with its power and wonders!

The best piece of wellness advice that I can give, is also how I prefer to practice – I look for the solution, instead of the supplement or method. If you are not seeing and feeling results with a certain method – stop, and continue your search elsewhere.

When you’re on a health journey, you’ll probably hear a lot of different suggestions – various supplements, herbs, teas, family recipes and so on, that are good for specific problems.

But if you’ve tried a supplement and you don’t feel better, or it’s causing other symptoms and side effects, maybe it’s not for you! Sometimes what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another.

For example, people often hear that Turmeric is good for joint pain. I’ve seen many patients who took Turmeric supplements for a long time, and not only did they not get the relief they wanted with the joint pain, they also began to experience side effects, like waking up more during the night, or having a harder time falling asleep.

All in all, if you are seeing results with a certain treatment plan, keep going! But if what you’re doing doesn’t seem to be working – it’s okay to pause and reassess! There are many other possible solutions out there. It’s important to re-evaluate our treatment plan every now and again.

Over the years I’ve had many memorable clients. It brings me great joy to look back and remember all of the different stories and people, like many of my cancer patients who went through all the chemo and radiation with almost no side effects, and were able to keep a smile on their face throughout some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Another area that comes to mind, are many of the ALS patients I helped, who most of them could breath easier again in the days following the treatment, and some even slightly got back some of the motor function while being treated.

I’m eternally grateful for the ability to help people in their health journey.

When I’m not working with patients I always enjoy reading and studying more deeply, taking care of my plants, and relaxing at home with my wonderful wife Mindy and our rambunctious cat, Baxter.
